A Family Farm Built on Faith and Hard WorkTwin Springs Farm was founded in 2009, when a newly retired father decided a bull and five bred cows might be just the thing to keep him busy and close to the land. This small herd has grown into an operation of 15 to 20 mama cows and high quality locally raised beef, built one relationship at a time through Birmingham's Pepper Place Market.
Today, three generations work the farm together, and every animal we raise reflects our shared values of faith, family, and a commitment to doing things the right way. We believe every blessing on this farm has come from God, and we try to carry that gratitude into how we raise our animals and treat our customers.
Registered and High Percentage Devons, Raised Right
We built our herd on both registered and high percentage Devon cattle genetics. This breed is one prized for centuries as "white tablecloth beef." Devons are a docile, low stress breed that finish beautifully on grass alone, with no need for outside supplementation. Did you know that their calm temperament also contributes to better tasting, more tender beef?
Our cattle live on open pasture, never confined and with no antibiotics or steroids. It's a simple approach, but it's one that's earned Twin Springs Farm a loyal following of Alabama families who care as much about how their food is raised as how it tastes.
Alabama Farm Raised Beef & Pork Sold Direct to You
We raise our beef from high percentage and purebred Devon cattle and pork from our Berkshire hogs. Like Devons, Berkshires are known for producing exceptional meat including nice hams and richly marbled cuts.
Both are pasture raised and finished, with calves born each spring and fall and grown out over 24 to 30 months for full flavor and quality. Because we sell direct to the families who eat what we raise, you always know exactly where your meat comes from.
